T/ CSA 067-2021 “General Technical Requirements for Highly Selective LED Insecticidal Lamp System for Field Control of Helicoverpa armigera” was developed by the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and organized by the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Research and Development and Industry Alliance on February 22. (Hereinafter referred to as “Standards”) The group standards are officially released to the industry. Following the CSA Alliance standard formulation process, after the drafting group meeting discussion, soliciting opinions, and other processes, it was voted and approved by the CSA Management Committee in December 2020, and it was officially released and implemented on February 22, 2021.

As a technical measure in the green prevention and control technology system of crop diseases and insect pests, the insecticidal lamp plays an important role in the prevention and monitoring of pests. The insecticidal lamp system with LED as the light source has gradually formed a certain market scale. The Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has taken the lead in organizing the comprehensive management of crop diseases and insect pests for a long time and has carried out a lot of work on the research of insecticidal lamps and their use technology. A lot of work has been done on phototaxis, phototaxis mechanism, behavioral response to different light waves, and the use of insecticidal lamps to monitor and control pests of important pests such as cotton bollworms, beetles, mirid bugs, and worms.
The “Standard” stipulates the general technical requirements for the highly selective LED insecticidal lamp system for field control of cotton bollworm, including classification, technical requirements, and test methods. This standard is only applicable to the application of the highly selective LED insecticidal lamp system for cotton bollworm, and the LED insecticidal lamp system for other lepidopteran pests such as field armyworm, two-spotted armyworm, etc. can be used as a reference.

The formulation and release of this standard can accelerate the integration of the semiconductor lighting industry and green agricultural production, serve market applications, and guide the healthy development of the industry.
